If you’re traveling with Delta Airlines on an upcoming flight, here’s everything you need to know about your baggage allowance and fees. Your baggage allowance may vary depending on fare type, cabin class and route.

Delta Airlines carry-on luggage

Delta Airlines passengers are allowed to bring one piece of carry-on luggage on board their flight and one personal item that must fit under the seat in front of them. This would include a purse, briefcase, laptop bag, or similar items such as a tote bag. Hand luggage must not measure more than 56 cm x 35 cm x 23 cm, including handles and wheels.

Due to limited overhead space, Delta Air Lines passengers traveling on flights with 50 seats or fewer are only allowed to bring one personal item on board the aircraft.

Delta Airlines Checked Baggage

When flying with Delta Airlines, the amount of checked baggage a customer is allowed depends on many factors, including the route, fare type, and class of travel.

The most common fares for passengers traveling in a domestic main cabin seat are $30 each way for your first bag under 23kg and $40 each way for your first bag under 23kg. Luggage must not exceed 157 cm in total dimensions.

This can cause distrust between routes. Visit the Delta Air Lines website for more information.

Delta Airlines Excess Baggage

When traveling with Delta Air Lines, separate excess baggage fees apply for each excess baggage limitation: size, weight and quantity. Generally, this varies between geographic regions. Visit the Delta Air Lines website for more information and exact fares.

Delta Airlines Special Items

Delta Air Lines allows a wide range of sports equipment and special baggage on flights. Due to their size, some of these items may be counted as a standard checked bag. However, many will be considered oversized or overweight items. As such, fees and certain restrictions will apply. Visit the Delta Air Lines website directly.
