This is one of, if not the, best RPGs I played last year. The Outer Worlds brings that Obsidian/Bethesda action role-playing game to life. If you're a fan of Morrowind, Skyrim, Fallout, or just a general fan of video games, The Outer Worlds is a must play. While I’ve been playing on PlayStation, I honestly can't wait to pick this guy up to play on the go with the Switch. And it's right around the corner for Switch, releasing on March 6. —C.S.

When you expand your Nintendo Switch Online membership with the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, you have free access to a few Nintendo 64 games, with more to come! Enjoy The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 64, Yoshi's Story, and more.

I've thought about buying Katana Zero a few times. I'm not sure what's putting me off as I'm a fan of Devolver Digital games. Is it really a must play? Roki I've never considered before but it reviewed well and that's a pretty big discount. I'll have to check some gameplay first but all going well, I'll likely buy it.

3. From the Nintendo Switch HOME Menu, select the Nintendo eShop icon.

An update made it a little better, in certain games. If you start a multiplayer session in the Switch's NES library, the phone app will automatically detect your play session and connect you to your friend. Some games will even let you chat with other players who aren't on your friends list: Mario Kart 8 will tell you that other users are in voice chat, prompting you to open the app.

Following on from Two Point Hospital, Two Point Campus is putting players in charge of running their own college. Create awesome grounds, excellent classrooms, and engage in mad lectures like Knight School, and follow your students as they progress through the school year. It's more personal and more creative than the hospital edition, and yet still with the same brilliant personality and humor.

It's a game that you play only once, but the visual wil linger.

The Nintendo Switch is the only console of the two that lets you play Nintendo games (well, legally, at least), and some pretty great ones at that. The lineup of Switch exclusives is one of Nintendo’s best, with must-play masterpieces like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey and Animal Crossing: New Horizons joined by multiplayer essentials like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Splatoon 2. And if you’re feeling retro, the Switch has access to a good amount of NES, Super NES, Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis games via Nintendo’s Switch Online service. As of this writing, there are about 7,000 games on the Switch eShop, with new ones arriving at a pretty decent clip. And considering that there are no plans to bring Fortnite to Steam Deck, Nintendo’s handheld is currently the only option of the two for playing Epic’s wildly popular online shooter.

This is of course how devices like smartphones have operated for over a decade, but hey, it’s better to get this in 2024 than to have never got it at all.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening - Nintendo Switch

Group your Zelda, Mario and Pokemon games together and bring glorious order to your game library.

Sometimes you just need something familiar, and Clubhouse Games fills that niche perfectly. It’s an incredibly simple concept: a collection of more than 50 physical games, from chess to darts to bowling, that you can play on your Switch. The package was clearly put together with lots of love and a level of care and attention to detail that makes this more than just a simple collection. Each game has a pleasantly tactile feel, despite being a digital recreation. Clubhouse Games is full of familiar favorites but will likely also introduce you to new games from all over the world. It’s the perfect thing to pick up and play in between other, more complex experiences.

What will you be picking up in the sale? These deals end in just a few weeks, so hop to it!

Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu and Let's Go, Eevee meld mainline Pokemon adventures with the simplistic catch mechanic of Pokemon Go. Distinguished mainly by the option to have either Pikachu or Eevee as your starter, the pair of Let's Go games are remakes of Pokemon Yellow, taking you back to the Kanto region to catch the original 151 Pokemon and become a champion. The Let's Go titles are a great way to introduce your kids to the world of Pokemon, especially if you played Yellow (or Red/Blue) as a child. Where Let's Go differs is that random battles are replaced by visible Pokemon wandering in the grass. Once a battle is initiated, you merely try to catch the Pokemon in a straightforward minigame that resembles the technique of Pokemon Go. This streamlines Pokemon: Let's Go in a big way, making it a worthy starter title to the ever-growing Pokemon universe. Plus, you can have any Pokemon follow you around and even travel on Charizard's back--what more could you ask for?

Create your own characters and levels in this popular MMO. There are thousands of mini-games for you to discover, and more are created by other users every day. You'll be playing for hours and hours as you gather items, create your own worlds, and modify your own character creation.

Any Nintendo 64 game showing up on the Switch is a godsend. Doom 64 is launching alongside DOOM Eternal (and Animal Crossing). The hellish, polygonal shooter tops off the retro DOOM collection currently available on the Switch, thus weirdly giving DOOM fans everything they ever wanted. —C.S.

Sometimes two things go together so well you have to wonder why no one tried it before. Such is the case with Murder By Numbers. It’s a silly-yet-touching crime drama that plays out like a visual novel, one that’s packed with lovable characters and surprising plot twists. But it’s also a puzzle game, one where you complete sudoku-like challenges in order to find clues and solve crimes. It may not make a lot of sense on the surface, but in practice these two halves fit together just about perfectly.

I've got a ton of games on the BF list but Triangle Strategy and Rune Factory are the only day one games for me right now.

The Wirebug is not a tool you need to equip in Monster Hunter Rise; it’s an unlimited system with a short cooldown, and it’s always with you, even back in town when you’re crafting weapons. I have two Wirebugs when I start a hunt. I can use them back to back to dash twice as far, or just one at a time to get myself in the air for a quick strike. I can climb a mountain by alternating between zipping and running up the side. The Wirebug opens up the entire map as playable space, instead of the prebuilt alleyways and arenas from previous games where I can battle beasts and collect mushrooms.

DELTARUNE isn't a sequel to UNDERTALE, but it is the first chapter of another series inside of a new world. If you loved the wild (and confusing) ride that UNDERTALE took you on, you need to check out this game. The first chapter is free, and there are more in development.

Another great reason to go digital is that you'll always have all of your games with you, no matter where you go. That way, you never have to tote all of those cartridges around in a case. Since digital game purchases are tied to your Nintendo Account, you could still access them if you had to replace your Switch or if you upgrade to a new Switch model.

Given the sorry state of FIFA releases on Switch, it's ideal that Nintendo is stepping up with another fun-looking Mario Strikers game to give people their football fix. It's been 15 years since the last Strikers game, and we can't wait to play some party-style football fun.

So in 2018, Nintendo decided to launch Nintendo Switch Online which is a suite of features available for the Nintendo Switch on a subscription basis.

Super Mario Odyssey is a delightful, Super Mario 64-like action game with a focus on exploration. Mario’s ability to possess items and enemies with his cap is one his coolest skills yet. This game offers welcoming assist features to let gamers of all skill levels enjoy themselves.

Technicalities aside, what are the actual benefits of the Nintendo Switch Online? Well, perhaps the coolest benefit offered by Nintendo Switch Online is the access to a bunch of exclusive NES games - classic ones that come with a rather fantastic upgrade. This particular feature is sure to bring nostalgic joy to old school Nintendo fans. Another exclusive feature provided by Nintendo Switch Online is the access to online gameplay - play with other Nintendo Switch gamers not only locally, but also online, save your game progress to the cloud and all other benefits brought to you by Nintendo Switch subscription!

You will need to be a Nintendo Switch Online member to play the vast majority of games online. You will still be able to play games such as Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in single-player or local multiplayer, but won't be able to compete against your friends over the internet if you don't have an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

The game came in for some criticism for being an updated version of Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U, with the DLC tracks thrown in as well as new characters and a revised battle mode, but its sheer playability makes it still one of the best Nintendo Switch games. Whether you're battling on single-player mode, huddling around the TV for some 4-player action, or racing against players from all over the world online, this is essential high-speed action for everyone.

Brawlhalla is a Smash Bros.-like fighting game — just a little worse and a whole lot cheaper. It features the same eight-player arena battles of Smash Bros., but without the nostalgic Nintendo characters in tow. Instead, Brawlhalla offers a long list of Legends, with eight free ones cycling through your roster each week. You can purchase all of the Legends, but since they’ll all be available for free at some point, it won’t give you an in-game edge. That’s what’s most impressive about Brawlhalla — it has microtransactions, but not to the point that it feels pay-to-win. All of the characters feel balanced, so you could easily spend hundreds of hours in Brawlhalla without spending a dime. Furthermore, the game supports cross-play between PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Switch, so you’ll always be able to find a game.

You can't go rong with LEGO! No matter which title you choose, you'll be in for a low-stress, silly time.
